Music Current is an annual contemporary music festival produced by Dublin Sound Lab. The festival offers Dublin audiences a showcase of contemporary Irish electronic music and new international repertoire and includes a participation scheme for composers to take part in masterclasses, discussions, collaborations and performances.

Music Current is produced in collaboration with the Contemporary Music Centre and supported by the Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon, Dublin City Council, with the friendly support of Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation, and Art Mentor Foundation Lucerne.

Hold on tight
while we bring
you a new
Music Current

At Music Current Festival we love making live music and we love sharing live music with our audiences. This spirit of sharing is embedded in the way we make music – with composers and performers from Ireland and all over the world coming together in Dublin to write, collaborate, share and perform new music. For us, audiences are at the centre of the concert experience and the festival has always focused on making music that has to be experienced and not just heard.

Under the current local public health restrictions in Dublin, and the ongoing uncertainty concerning international travel, we recognise that we cannot bring together composers, musicians and audiences in the intense week of events we had planned.

So, for the moment, Music Current is on hold, and we ask you to hold on tight till we can bring you a new Music Current in 2021.
